This incredible sphere caught my eye while we were visiting one of our dealers from Madagascar.  So purple I nearly mistook it for amethyst, it actually turned out to be the even rarer lavender variety of rose quartz.  And as if that weren't special enough, the sphere has an incredible star that glows distinctly even in poor light.  Some rose quartz contains microscopic rutile crystals which are oriented at right angles to the c-axis of the rose quartz in three directions, each 120 degrees apart. When viewed at a specific angle with a source of light a star-effect is visible. This is known as asterism.

Lavender quartz is a type of rose quartz that exhibits a lovely lavender color. In addition to the properties of rose quartz this mineral has also been used to stimulate the third eye, to promote clairsentience, clairaudience, and clairvoyance, and to further communication on the physical plane.
