Lepidocrocite included quartz goes by two names: harlequin or fire quartz. Lepidocrocite inclusions are fiery red specks that you can sometimes also find with hematite or goethite inclusions. Lepidocrocite included quartz is an uncommon occurrence that results in fabulously gorgeous, mostly small crystals; large fire crystals are rare indeed. Fire quartz has a very bright, sparkling energy to it, and infuses us with vitality. Work with it to open your root or base chakra, and to encourage flow of Kundalini energy. Visualize that serpent of energy rising up through your physical chakras, into your heart. Infuse the serpent with love, and coax it into your crown. Practice this exercise in meditation with fire quartz, and feel the life infuse you!

This is probably my favorite fire quartz from this batch.  Its energy is so complex because of the presence of amethyst and smoky phantoms below the layer of sparkling red lepidocrocite.  Those phantoms give the point a smoky lavender hue under the red.  This point is the meeting of heaven and earth, combining the high spirituality of the amethyst and the physical sensuality of the lepidocrocite, and it's all grounded by the wisps of smoky.  This stunning point is from Madagascar.

The point measures 2.6" x 1.8" x 1" and weighs 4.5oz.

Harlequin or Fire quartz is quartz containing red dots or strings of lepidocrocite. It provides a beautiful "dancing" energy, which when activated, stimulates the energy flow on all levels. It can be used to stimulate the base chakra and to provide for a direct pathway between the base chakra, and the heart chakra; it can hence be used to direct and to intensify natural proclivities. It activates all of the qualities of the base chakra, the heart chakra, and the crown chakra, and provides physical energy and vitality to the physical body.

It further stimulates the healing qualities of the heart and the associated attributes of loving consciousness. It can also be used to balance the polarity of ones body with the higher bodies and to open and balance the meridians of the physical body, stimulating alignment of the physical and ethereal nervous systems.

It has been used to traverse the gap between the physical world and the spiritual world, and can help one to understand transitions. It can be used in the treatment of disorders related to the blood, veins, mental acuity, memory, intravascular coagulation of the blood in the circulatory system, imbalances in the thyroid, and atrophy if the thymus. It has also been used in the treatment of depression, despondency, and to activate the will to progress.

Amethyst is said to bring serenity and calm, to enhance one's ability to assimilate new ideas, and to assist during meditation. It is also said to give strength and mental stability, and to provide balance between one's physical, emotional, intellectual states. Amethyst is also said to make one shrewd in business matters. Amethyst is said to help remove toxins from the body and to help treat arthritis. It also said to be useful in treating a number of disorders including those of the digestive system, heart, nervous system, skin and hearing and to help provide relief from pain and to strengthen the immune system.

Amethyst may be used to remove radiation the body stores on the sides of the head...such as from computers and such. Geodes of Amethyst are particularly good for this, just place the head next to it; you will then feel the radiation being drawn out. Place on the 3rd eye and visualize yourself breathing in the color for total mental emotional soothing. It's a very good technique to do in bed before going to sleep. It is an amazing all round healer and also a brilliant meditation crystal. Amethyst can be used for massage in wand, egg or sphere form. It makes a great elixir.

Sometimes Smoky combines with Amethyst, which gives you the benefits of both, as well as creating their own unique energy combined. Phantom crystals in Smoky are very powerful in breaking old patterns and blockages.

Smoky Quartz is almost a default crystal in any crystal layout. It is grounding, protective and can transform negative energy into positive energy. As one friend put it to me, Smoky Quartz is good for humans, because we are currently quite murky beings ourselves! It is a very joyful crystal. It is helpful to hold if you have other crystals that UN-ground you such as Moldavite.
