While in Tucson this year, we tried our best to find affordable ajoite specimens to offer our customers. It's become evident that as the energies of the planet change, ajoite will be much needed by healers world wide. So we were delighted to find a batch of small ajoite crystals from the original Messina mine in South Africa. The mine has been flooded for decades, and is now unsafe to work.

 Ajoite is a rare mineral and is almost always found within quartz. Although name initially after Ajo, Arizona where it was first discovered. This source had the most beautiful specimens and at the time, the most plentiful. Any ajoite now on the market are from old miner stockpiles that have been released to the public. Ajoite has such a luminous blue-green color, often swirled with reds of hematite. It has an emotionally soothing energy. Working with ajoite releases old grief, anger and pain and it is not unusual to experience tears as well as laughter. Ajoite awakens your compassion, both for yourself and for others. Ajoite heals the healer, and is highly nurturing. It makes me think of floating in a warm pool of salt or mineral water, perfectly supported and totally at ease. It is also believed to transmute negative energy into positive energy.

This is a little sweetie of a crystal. It has a tabular shape, flatter than it is wide, that is double terminated. Sweet little blue ajoite phantoms can be seen in the companion crystals, its not a lot, but you don't need a lot to feel the energy. Green tufts of pyromophite are scattered within the crystal too as well as so splotches of red hematite. The back is covered in a layer of yellow matrix with dozens of small crystals emerging. She has a wealth of etchings on both terminations. The crystal is almost perfect, with just a few minor nicks from the termination. She has a warm nurturing energy that wraps you in a healing blanket. She brings through the joy despite the pain, making the toughest times easier to bear. She nurtures the nurturer, reminding you to care for yourself as well as you do others.

The crystal measures 1.5" x 0.8" x 0.5" and weighs 0.4 oz.

Ajoite produces a melding between the heart chakra and the throat chakra and facilitates speaking that which is in one's heart. Ajoite can be used to eliminate hostility- it is quite difficult for one to remain hostile toward oneself; in addition, and following the same logic, Ajoite can also be used to eliminate anger, abrasiveness, jealousy, prejudice....and all of the negative attributes one could imagine.

It is a strengthener, healer and harmonizer of the emotional body. It has very sweet vibrations not only to soothe us; they also draw out the poison of one’s subconsciously held sorrows, fears, rage and old wounds.
