Septarian Calcite Septarians were formed millions of years ago. Decomposing sea life had a chemical attraction for the sediment around them forming mud balls. As oceans receded, the balls were left to dry and crack. Because their bentonite content, they also shrank at the same time, trapping the cracks inside. As decomposed calcite from sea shells was carried down into the cracks, calcite crystals were formed. A thin wall of calcite was transformed into aragonite separating the benonite heavy clay exteriors from the calcite centers. Because of this the nodules are called Septarian Calcite. Septarian is a beautiful calming nurturing energy. It also nurtures ideas while helping with the motivation to put those ideas into action.
